Plow

Located in Potrero Hill, Plow came to being in 2010 when Joel Bleskacek and Maxine Siu decided to take their passion for food and wine a step further. Nearly 18 years after meeting at Oakland's Oliveto Restaurant and a 10 year break from restaurants, the two found a vacant studio and constructed it into the business it is today. Bleskacek and Siu say that they treat Plow as an extension of their home, where they often entertain friends and family by preparing seasonal, simple, and well-made food sourced from local farms. As it says on Plow's website, the restaurant is "Midwest country boy meets San Francisco China girl." Cute!

Despite Plow's growing success, the restaurant has kept to its early promise of keeping local. It also has not expanded! With its small size, Plow can only accommodate parties of 6 or less. It is, however, available for private parties every evening with a maximum guest count of 40.

Reviews

In early reviews, Plow received generous applause from food critics and frequent diners alike. One article even called it "the home we wished we lived in"! Some of the past and present favorites from the menu include the lemon ricotta pancakes, the pumpkin pancakes, the crispy potatoes, and the soft scrambled eggs.
