San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) holds an internationally recognized collection of modern and contemporary art. The collection includes more than 27,000 works of photography, painting and sculpture, architecture and design, and media arts. The building was designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta.

The museum has a gift shop, a restaurant, Caffè Museo, and Blue Bottle Coffee Bar.

  • Winter hours: From the day after Labor Day (the first Tuesday in September) through the day before Memorial Day (the last Sunday in May) we open at 11:00 a.m. daily (except Wednesdays).
  • The museum is closed on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
